Development, MAN Bus & Truck in Munich
How I arrived at MAN
It's a funny story. I was out jogging and a hybrid bus from MAN drove past me, and I was interested in renewable drives. So I browsed the MAN website, found the trainee programme, and then applied later on.
What I currently do at MAN
I did a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in micro and nanotechnology. At MAN I now work in the function development powertrain division. Last year I worked with a colleague in on-board diagnostics. This focuses on which information the driver is shown. And today we presented this system for the first time to a wide audience.
What I am particularly proud of
I am pleased to have developed a function which shows the driver the remaining range of the vehicle. This solution is being integrated into a vehicle as a trial, so that it can be looked at and tested to start with.
Why I like working at MAN:
There is always something new to do, and I like a challenge. And because my work is for commercial vehicles and not for luxury cars, I am also doing something for the general public.
