Commission a computer-controlled industrial facility while studying electrical engineering – on this dual course of study, you receive exciting apprenticeship that is also based on technical knowledge. Your Bachelor of Engineering apprenticeship at MAN is in close collaboration with the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

The dual course of study combines internal apprenticeship to become an electronics engineer of automation technology with electrical engineering studies at the Gelsenkirchen site of the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences.

The apprenticeship content is closely linked to the commissioning of computer-controlled industrial facilities. The focus is on new installations, repairs, troubleshooting and updating measurement, control and regulation technology.

During your practical experience

  • You will acquire well-founded electrical engineering/automation technology knowledge and skills in accordance with the framework of the apprenticeship
  • You will learn how to install and wire control units as well as assemble machine sensory technology and actuating elements for mechanical engineering. The transmission of signals and data and their validation are a significant part of this experience
  • You will participate in basic electro-technical apprenticeship at our collaborating partner's apprenticeship centre
  • You will receive specialist apprenticeship at the corresponding engineering department
  • You will have the opportunity to complete at least one assignment at one of our international sites abroad

Your requirements

  • As a minimum, good A-levels (Abitur)/very good qualifications required to enter a technical college (Fachhochschulreife)
  • Above-average performance in mathematics and natural sciences
  • Willingness to complete practical experience abroad
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Strong motivation and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
